A Valentine’s Day Gift from Malaysia government! Toll plaza at PJS2 on the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) to be abolished!

The Cabinet decided to do away with the RM1.60 toll last week, said Works Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Zin Mohamed on 13 Feb 2009. Source: The Star

The decision has been announced officially on 3.45pm, Friday, 13 Feb 2009 with immediate effect. The Valentine’s Day gift announcement not only benefit for road users heading to Kuala Lumpur but also for the 30,000 residents nearby the toll like Kampung Dato’ Haron and Taman Medan.

For those staying nearby who had to pay RM1.60 every time they drove toward Kuala Lumpur since April 2004 may save up more money during this economic downturning hard 2009 ox-year. Below is an example how much money can a office lady/guy working at Kuala Lumpur save after the toll abolishment..

    Example:
Assumed 5 working days per week
Average 22 working days per month

    RM1.60/trip x 22days/month = RM 35.20 saved

The calculation excluding extra trip toward Kuala Lumpur using the toll during weekends and other events.

Seem like not a huge sum we can save but i will say atleast that is something extra for those residents who feel softern burden with the announcement. That is better than nothing.

“Sikit sikit, lama-lama jadi bukit”!!!
