Where to invest in the new property star in Kuala Lumpur? Will redevelopment of Kampung Baru able to transform the place successfully and becoming the next property hotspot in KL for real estate investors? Let’s wait for the redevelopment plan proposal from government.

What’s Your Impressions on “Kampung Baru”?

The first thing it links me to the place is the original Kampung Baru Nasi Lemak Antrabangsa Restaurant. As it named, they are famous for their “nasi lemak”, the Malay cuisine in Malaysia.

Nasi Lemak is widely eaten in Malaysia, even as a dish served in Malaysian schools. Nasi lemak is a common breakfast dish, sold early in the morning at roadside stalls in Malaysia, where it is often sold packed in newspaper, brown paper or banana leaf. However, there are restaurants which serve it on a plate as noon or evening meals, making it possible for the dish to be eaten all day. Secondly, the place seems to be fully occupied by Malay and Indonesian. You might not aware about this; roughly there are thousands of construction workers working at all the major KLCC construction projects are now staying in Kampung Baru.

Basically, most of the areas are Malay reserve land title. That means for such land, both developed and undeveloped, cannot be transferred, sold or occupied by non-Malays. Don’t ask me why, else i will be questioned by ISA.
