Partition More Rooms for Rental Property, Apartment, Condos, Illegal or Legal in Malaysia?

Is it legal to partition more rooms for rental condos, apartment or landed property so that investor can collect more rentals from extra tenants? Basically, it is illegal for landlord to do so.

Firstly, the total number of people allowed is specified in the Selangor Housing and Real Estate Board (LPHS) guidelines and basically is based on the size of the property’s premises according to Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ).

Secondly, the partition room does not comply with safety standards which might obstruct the fire and rescue missions in case of emergency.
