How to install celcom mobile broadband usb modem? Is it really just plug N play? I believe for normal internet users, the answer is yes. But for internet dummies, once they plug their usb broadband modem into either destop or laptop, for those instruction where you just need to click ‘Next’ i guess should not be problem for them. But, i’m wondering how are they going to do the setting part if they dont know anything about internet or software installation? Because, i’m one of them too. haha, what turf!
So if you are computer expert, you may leave this webpage now, its definately not for you! Here is a simple tutorial on ‘How to install Celcom Mobile Broadband USB Modem’. I have print screen for every single step you should do after plug your usb modem into your computer’s usb port. Currently, i’m using Huawei Model E220 usb modem. Hope this post is useful for you.
Step by Step Installation and Settings
Step 1: Click ‘Next’
Step 2: Select ‘I accept the terms of the license agreement’ then click ‘Next’
Step 3: Click ‘Next’
Step 4: Click ‘Finish’
Step 5: The Mobile Connect’s interface will appear once you finish the installation in step 4. Select ‘Settings’ and click on ‘Network Connection Settings’
Step 6: Click ‘New’
Step 7: Type ‘celcom’ in Profile Name column. Change ‘APN and Additional Settings’ to ‘Static’ and type ‘celcom3g’ in ‘APN:’ column
Step 8: Installation and settings are done. Click ‘Connect’ then you are able to online now!

i use maxis broadband brand huawei e220.can i use sim card celcom boadband?
Just wanna tell it’s working. Have been using E160G model. Stuck at APN thingy before this. Keyyed in celcom3g and voila connected! thanks again bro.

Friend, I just get the Celcom Broadband for RM100 package last Monday. Once back home, I installed. Look like the installation process was done properly. The Celcom Broadband Icon was shown on my desktop. But unfortunately until the time I wrote this message, still cannot connect. The message shown “Cannot Connect to Remote…”

Hi adjie, are you referring to the same huawei modem model? Many of my friends were following the same instruction and its work as per their feedback. Perhaps you might seek for assist direct from Celcom.
