PTPTN blacklist people and forbid those who not paying the loan. If some of them have the chance sent by company to overseas for 2-3 weeks services and now they are blacklist so how are they going to earn more money for the loan repayment? the authorities need to consider the future of the loaners before taking action. no money how to pay to PTPTN. now living standard is high, petrol price going up year by year.

If the borrower is working, the borrower should be able to start paying PTPTN and pay on time then the borrower should not have problem with this issue.
Call PTPTN and get them to sort this out if the borrower has been paying back PTPTN on time.

There are people who get the loan and are not responsible to repay back even though they are earning good salaries. The government is really not acting seriously on this matter and this is really not been fair to those who are earning little and are fully responsible to pay back on time. I personally advise the government should give specialy incentives to those who pay promptly

It’s true, Now Im in singapore working, but if i wanna go back to Malaysia, I can’t go back to Singapore anymore, If i lose my job, how am I gonna pay my loan? They never think of that and not even excuse for it. Better I just stay here til my passport expired then go back to Malaysia and not Paying anything coz its really troublesome. Not that we dont want to pay, but everybody have their own problems, as for me, Me & my dad is the only person to support the family.

All excuses, why did u borrow at the first place if u cant pay it back????!!! what kind of citizen are u guys. U guys should just complain about the 3% interest which is very high. Stop complaining n pay your debt. When u guys borrow the money it was easy aint it. now to pay back it hurts ????

Absolutely agreed with Kumar. Those who not fulfill their obligation to pay back will jeopardize the future of people who really need the loan fo further study. Try to imagine that when your sister or brother’s application for PTPTN rejected by reason that fund insufficient due to those borrowers not pay back

The situation is getting worst! Not only the student (now working adult) not paying back… Jabatan Audit Negara has in year 2010 report revealed that there are more problem behind… I am worried about my saving for children education in PTPTN. (www.audit.gov.my)

I am one of the PTPTN borrower.

I have so much to say on this but one thing that i hate is that. The notice send to the borrower often arrived very late then the date stated on the letter. I remember the first time i received a letter asking me to start paying for the loan. I requested to have a postpone date. It takes like few months to received responce. Yes i did received the approval of the new date, BUT it was like after a few week of the date stated on the letter. The worse part is that, the due date for me to response on the later is OVER. Where is the problem here exactly?? Does it cause by the late process in the mailing services?? Or… the process of documentation of PTPTN office is not systematic??? Think about it.

I submited another letter to explain on that and yet i got no response until now! The last thing i know is that, i have received the blacklist letter!!!

This is very frustrating!!

When you sign the contract to borrow the money, dint it state that once u graduate, u have 6 months to payback PTPTN without interest? After that 6 months the interest of 3% applies and you only start paying this amount after 6 month of your graduation. Dont know know what you signed????
I am out of PTPTN for 4 years and i still remember. How could you not take your contract seriously. Being black listed is a 1st step for you to learn to be careful of what you sign next time. Lesson learned and dont complain.

This is very lame. PTPTN are not trying to helps Malaysian’s student but they are trying to kill them instead. If they are really want to help us, why are they charging an interest to our loan??? Make it a what u borrow is what u pay basis. Afterall, those money came from our parent. Why are they always giving their citizen a BIG headache??! If u r sincere enuf to help, try not to make our difficult life harder.

Sincerely,

PTPTN..you are the only body that tertiary students rely on..but why you are not try to rely on them by having a win-win situation…u are no where without student…your funds are our money…we have the right as a malaysian…malaysia is no where if all the malaysian are discontinue their study even do nothing… the point here is PTPTN must be responsibled upon the effect of the policy that they has play around.

@ ex student
1% interest also u want to complain?
The 1% interest that they charge isnt even enough to cover the costs and inflation. PTPTN loan is exactly what it is, a study loan, not a scholarship, unless you did very well and had it converted to a scholarship.
Please pay up and cut the lame excuses.

I have some question to ask and share. If the borrower are married and have childs and paid an average salary (e.g RM 1500/1200 or below) by their company, how they going to pay their loan regularly bcoz they have lots of expenses like house rental, kitchen expenses, kids medical expenses etc….Hope
PTPTN can consider this situation especially for those who are blacklisted.

i suggest that ptptn can accept rm50/monthly payment no matter when it finished as long as the loan being paid. Take MARA as example. But this suggestion are for those who earned 3k and below.

FOR ALL THE PERSON WHO IS NOT PAYING AND COMPLAINING.
1. If you cant pay why did you take the loan.
2. if your family is not so well to do why did you even go and study instead of supporting them.
3. Nothing is free in this world.
4. If you working in Singapore then its lame to say that u dont have RM200 or RM300 per month to pay back.
5. If you under tight budget, its totally your problem and its not the PTPTN problem to look after you.
6. WILL YOU ACCEPT IF A COMPANY YOU ARE WORKING FOR TELLS YOU THAT THEY DON’T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO PAY YOUR SALARY OR THAT THEY WANT ONLY PAY RM50 PER MONTH??????? If not please stop complaining and start paying.
7. If you didn’t get statement why didn’t you call then up and ask how much you need to pay and etc.
8. PTPTN is giving out huge sum to everyone who is borrowing and they made you sign contract, And in it clearly stated how much you need to pay and for how long. WHY DID YOU SIGN IF YOU KNOW YOU CANT PAY.??
9. For all you citizens who borrowed and not paying, the words im gona use is harsh but face it.

- Don’t be selfish and ignorant
- please pay what you owe
- it is said its easy to take and very hard to give back
I know its the tax payers money or whatever, but aren’t they using the money for good?? So is the country being bad or you just making your self stupid.

for all of you out there
DON’T BE GREEDY AND BORROW WHAT YOU CANT PAY.
IM 25 and im earning and partially supporting my family as well and im paying monthly RM300 to PTPTN. That is a huge sum for me but i borrowed the money and its my responsibility to pay it back.

Please be glad that they are not making you bankrupt or whatever because you are not paying back. For now don’t find stupid excuses and please pay back. Your family problem is not the countries problem but the countries problem is your problem. From payers to non payers we don’t care what you say or what kind of excuse you give, if we can pay then you can pay. For those who are jobless, stop relaxing and being choosy and go work. for ppl who are working and not paying, im shamed of you, you call yourself a Malaysian the downfall of our country is because ppl like you.

You owe ppl you pay ppl.

You are the one who is selfish % ignorant by saying all of those egoistic comment of your.
Hey dude, if we have this premonition about what happened to our life in future, that we couldn’t pay our loan, we won’t take the loan at all. But unfortunately, we are no God that we know our fate is gonna be so hard like this.
For those who have a poor family, their family want them to further their study in hope that they will get a good job once they finished their study but sometime things we planned doesn’t go right away. They are not God and they cannot predicted what will happened in future!
Ya you are 25 years old, very young and supporting you family as well but may be you got a good job with a thick salary. Don’t think other people from your own perspective because lots of people who borrow from PTPTN is less lucky in finding jobs with good salary. Lots of them end up working for salary as low as RM1200 per month and that amount barely cover their expenses especially those who have family of their own. Maybe RM50 doesn’t mean anything to you but to people who know how hard to earn those money, it’s mean everything! To me, it’s better they pay RM50 than nothing at all! I know you gonna said, why married if cannot support a family, but as i said we are no God and we cannot tell what happened in our life.
Please no hard feeling but I just don’t like the way your voice your opinion.

At the moment we are suing those who haven’t paid a single cent or who stopped paying like over a year (some even after 3 years still receive no summons).

Yet, for the record, those who pay halves of the monthly instalments; on-off (once in every two months), are still getting the benefit of not receiving court summons. However they are only save for the moment.

Early this year, we the panel solicitor for ptptn received insruction to proceed 10k summons against the defaulters, and they are those the former i mentioned.

As for the latter, I do not know yet their fate, but ptptn will issue another tsunami instruction this september. I hope it against the same hard defaulters as the former and not those who are paying out of their hardship.

If the minister approved it, I’m afraid it could be execution for those who already summoned in court and slapped with judgment. Meaning, you may expect the Court’s people (we call them Bailiff) to appear at your parent’s door (mostly because Borrower did not update their current address, so the only address ptptn has is your parent’s since it is generally used in the agreement u signed b4) to seize the goods and wares in your parent house and open a public lelong (which definately and truly embarassing).

So people, even if it is really hard, try make payment every month, for even just rm50. In my experience, those who made prior payment even that little, they have much better chance to discuss with ptptn about removing the blacklist.

Nasir June 23, 2011 at 6:54 am

Again, for those who receive the small poscard by ptptn offering to reduce the interest to 1%, pls act promptly. And dont forget to follow up to make sure you got that benefit.

For those who are already under summons stage, I’m truly sorry that you are not entitled for that reduction (unless the system screwed and u accidentally receive the offer. Believe me, the automated system did screwed, as I for myself received the offer whereas I did not borrow from ptptn….he he heh)

ILLEGAL DOINGS BY GOVERNMENT

I am not here to say borrowers do not need to repay their loan.
But government is abusing its power and suppress people’s basic rights. Freedom to travel is a basic human rights. Only people like bankruptcy whom were declared by court were disallowed to travel overseas for uncessary reason.

If PTPTN wants to to be treated as professionals, they should request people to view them as financial institution and/or banks. No bank will be allowed to work directly with Malaysia immigration to block travellers without court order.

PTPTN borrowers who got their freedom of travel blocked by government institution which is having audit, quality and compliance problems themselves is abusing their power by working with immigration and impose illegal restriction.

Hello everyone, relating to what has been said by most of you citizens of Malaysia, I believe we should learn to use our head and not our foot some times when we think of helping people. In view of all that has been said by individual, I could find a lot of idiots who talks like people without brain. Talking about PTPTN is not what we should take ourselves to become fools in the presence of our leaders. Malaysia is not the only nation that gives out study loan to his fellow citizens, American does it, so as Britain too and they never take it has something so hard on their citizens for them not to gain the opportunities they want. In the area of travelling overseas, I believe those who are behind the ptptn should not have any right to collide with the Immigration from deny their fellow citizens from travelling overseas because even Americans and the British allow their fellow citizens to go round the world because they trust their citizens. What they should do is making an agreement with them so that wherever they are around the world, they should be making their payment instalmentally without any difficulties. The government of Malaysia should try to give a helping hand to their fellow citizens, so as for them to be able to get their payment done. On the area of employment, they should try to increase the salary wages of individuals as citizens, because paying someone a sum of RM1200 to RM1800 doesn’t really help at all. For a graduate of this country, we should expect a payment and not peanut because we all know the reasons why we go to school and become a better person in life. We are begging the government of Malaysia to please have a look into the areas of ptptn study loan payment to what they can do to help our fellow citizens.

Hello,i am Mrs Lilian James, i`m from Canada. I was so much in need of a loan, and i posted a question on how i can get a loan. Someone advised me to contact Standard Loan ltd(standardlifeloanplc@gmail.com) , although i was scared at first but i decided to give them a trier. To my greatest surprise my loan was approved and granted without any form of credit check,no collateral,no cosigner and with just 1.3% interest rate. So, i will advise everyone out there that need a loan to contact them via this email:( standardlifeloanplc@gmail.com) and tell them i directed you.

My complaints are:
1) I’ve already paid a few thousands to PTPTN and they still had me on their blacklist.
2) The letters are always late and most of them had never even reached me. Already updated the address with PTPTN and still nothing changes. New letters never arrived.
3) You cannot clear the blacklist until half of the loan are paid. Of course, they won’t accept monthly salary cut in those case.
4) Your only real solution is to pay 100% of the money. Of course, if you had that kind of money why take the loan at all.
5) Until recently, paying PTPTN loans is a bitch. Which is why most of those blacklisted are from the days when there is no option to pay online. Nowdays, they claim it is easy to do payments but their payment system are very buggy and the transactions are not secure (no https). Just waiting to be hacked.

Advice:
If you are a student, looking for financing. Do not consider PTPTN. It sucks, you’re better off doing part-time at University and pay as you go. Even bank loans are better off, since at least the loan is negotiable and you don’t have to worry about them not accepting your payments due to some stupid quotes.
Of course the explanations by PTPTN are never consistent.

Also, the banks will give you friendly reminders if you are late in paying them. PTPTN would just let your debt grow into a mountain before they ask you to pay. Of course, they do it by blocking your passport. An action taken only for the most serious offense (terrorism).
