Insurance Coverage for Swine Flu

Since day one of the news reporting on Swine Flu spread over worldwide, I have checked with my insurance agent immediately on the coverage of my investment linked insurance and another life insurance policy on the Swine Flu. It’s too important to ensure that my lovely family is covered under the invested insurances as well as my income protection too.

According to my financial planner and insurance agent, they have confirmed that an insurance policy holder is entitled for Medical Coverage (Commonly known as Medical Card Coverage) if the policy holder admitted to hospital for flu treatment and Death Benefits due to Swine Flu as according to their insurance policy’s terms and conditions, respectively.

Critical Illness Coverage Still a Subjective Issue

However, Critical Illness Coverage is still a subjective issue for Swine Flu. I have received different answers from different health insurance companies. Anyway, my friends of Insurance Agencies are discussing on the subject and will get the clarification and confirmation from Bank Negara Malaysia (Central Bank of Malaysia) within the shortest time frame as there are thousands of enquiry from policy holders who are concerning on the issue. I will update the confirmation here again once I get the answer.
