Auntie Lily, The Worst Landlord, Bad Reputation Apartment Owner in Malaysia?!

4 March 2010 | Category: Property Investment

The worst landlord in Malaysia, Auntie Lily?! Be careful if you are looking room for rent in Kelana Jaya, PJ! I was surprised to read 10 pages of hundreds bad comment about a landlady story (Auntie Lily) in PJNet forum. The improper way of the apartment owner managing her rental properties, Kelana D’Putera Condo and Kelana Puteri Condo has brought lot hoo-ha of tenants’ complaints.

It’s a good start being a landlord to generate passive income by collecting rent from tenants! Bear in mind, always be a good landlord! Manage your reputation wisely as a smart landlord investor! I bet you will not want to be like the case of Auntie Lily. Nowadays, tenants become smarter, some of them are actually paying for landlord screening services to:

  • Verify ownership of the property
  • Check if the property is in foreclosure
  • Verify the utilities are on legally
  • Check the complaints filed against the landlord, if any
  • Get references from prior tenants

Unfortunately, Malaysia seems to lack of such landlord background check servicing for tenant. Else, there will be more nasty landlord have to pay for the price!

Many landlords complain about bad tennants but things work both ways. If you have a bad landlord you can end up with costly problems that make life a hell.
